A recent acquisition. This is a very rare Colnago Nuovo Mexico Oro estimated at approximately 1980. The frame has a crimped top tube with under bottom bracket cable routing. Frame is a very light 1790 grams. Follow my blog as I plan to restore/re-plate the frame and build up in a similar fashion to the 1979 "Pope" bike.
I think this frame is a bit later than 1980. The fork crown and the braze-on for the front mech suggests so
ReplyDeleteYes, it could be 1981. The strange thing is that only the top tube is crimped, not the down tube. Also, the bike came with 1979 components.
