Welcome to my vintage bike blog. I will be featuring some of the 50 or so bikes from my collection as time permits. My collection consists of Italian vintage bikes from Colnago, Cinelli, Masi, Bianchi, Gios, Olmo, Geurciotti, Basso, Grandis, Pogliaghi, and Tommasini. I also own several Zeus (Spain), Austro-Daimlers (Austria), Schwinn Paramounts (USA) Merciers (France), a Liberia (France), a Raysport (Mexico), a Windsor (Mexico), and a Trek (USA).

Hello, I need your help please. I am restoring what appears to be this same exact Zeus frame. Everything seems to match... lugs, bottom bracket cable routing braze-ons, chrome lugs and stay ends and frame and zeus forks are also a 531 sl... only thing that doesn't match are the rear drops. It looks like someone replaced the rear zeus 2000 dropouts with Gipiemme at some point. My frame is stripped and I can tell that these dropouts were not factory welded.
ReplyDeleteCould you share a picture of the underside of bottom bracket shell to compare serial numbers and could you also share a close up shot of the seat post bolt braze-on looking directing from the rear?
I've done a ton of searching and your bike is by far the best comparison I've seen by far.
This would be extremely helpful and could finally confirm the identification of this gorgeous Zeus frame.
Thank you!
